Spending on Internet Advertising To Grow 20.2%

11.6.11

The increasing penetration of Internet-based online ad spending will grow rapidly. Even this year will achieve significant growth.

A recent report from analysis firm eMarketer predicts that online ad spending in the United States (U.S.) will grow 20.2 percent this year to USD31.3 billion, up from USD26 billion in 2010.

David Hallerman, an analyst at eMarketer, said that the Internet has become the primary choice for advertisers after television. This is the impact of consumers who continue to increase their time spent online and some others because the economy bounced back that led to increase the advertising budget. Thus quoted from TG Daily, Friday (06/10/2011).

eMarketer believes that Internet advertising will control almost a fifth of all advertising media spend in the U.S. this year, up from 17 percent stake in 2010.

Most of the increase is expected to come from the display ad. While it still lags far behind are the ads for search engines.
